Our way to beat the recession. Mystery Basket Sundays started out with a small group of friends who needed to fulfill their Sunday hunger cravings.
This is how it works...
A group of us (minus Chef Brian) will go to a local supermarket. Once we walk into the door, each person will take a basket, and split up. As we scatter through the aisles, we will grab what we want to include in the evening's feast. The part that makes it a mystery is we do not know what the other people are picking up, nor do we have any idea what will be made of it. Once we get back to the house, all items are placed on the table. This is where Chef Brian comes into the picture. He must use all the items purchased, create multiple courses, as well as a dessert.
What is so great about Sunday night is that we can all get together without spending a fortune. Mystery Basket Sundays have become a tradition for us and we could not wait to share it with the rest of the world!
